My River,

This letter is from Greece, from Crete. It's very near my home, and perhaps it's not a good idea to stay here. But sometimes you want the place you know. The villagers here are the kind you like, I think. They love to dance. And the land -- nothing in the world is like here.

Maybe we will come here for the horses and the mountains, if your brother says it's okay. But we will not drink raki, okay? Very very bad idea.

If Epimetheus ever did take River on a field trip to Crete, though, I would totally be pulling for them drinking raki because watching River drink homemade lighter fluid strikes me as potentially HILARIOUS. Just, you know, for the record.

She wouldn't, alas -- meds mean River is a strict teetotaler -- but she would totally sip fruit smoothies primly while he drank homemade lighter fluid. And make prim comments about liver cirrhosis which, come to think of it, might set off some angst, but oh well. (Fiiiieeeeld trips. I never get tired of those!)

Actually Epimetheus would totally call River either Potamoula (little river) or Horeftroula (little dancer).
