This weekend I am living at [livejournal.com profile] sanguine_zephyr's house, and it's closing weekend on top of that, so I may therefore be a little scarcer than usual.

Now I have to go finish packing, la.

Had a good show, followed by an overly long rehearsal to plug in a new actress*.

Then, dinner with BFF, followed by watching 10 Things I Hate About You with her. I feel obliged to here melt into a little puddle of GUH at Heath Ledger in leather pants with an Australian accent. *does so*

Also, a good adaptation! There were several points where I went "HAHAHA AWESOME," like when Cameron said he would be Bianca's French tutor, or when Mr. Universe (did that character have a name? Who cares, it was Mr. Universe) got the Shakespeare obsessed chick the dress.

However, I was looking forward to seeing how the, well, abuse between Petruchio and Kate was going to play out, and was kind of disapointed to see that it didn't. I understand why, of course -- you can't exactly have the romantic hero of a high school movie refusing his girlfriend food; not only does it look bad, but it's implausible. But it was less about taming the shrew, and more about winning her. If anyone was tamed, it was Patrick, not Kat.

I'm also intrigued that the whole movie is named after a two-minute scene.

The music is AWESOME. The black teacher is AWESOME. The porn-writing guidance counselor is HILARIOUS.

In other news, I am extraordinarily frustrated by the fourth level of Fyora's Quest. HALP.

I also fear that I have abruptly come down with a cold, if the sore throat is any indication. Blargh.

*How To Make Boring Rehearsals Of Stuff People Already Know More Interesting, By Adiva, Aged 18 and 1/2:

1) Fill in for missing actors and overplay their physicality.
2) Say your monologues in one breath.
3) Tackle your castmates.
4) Dance across stage.
adiva_calandia: (Further up and further in)
Two shows today -- a super lame one, and then an AWESOME one that was preceeded by a cast-wide lightsaber battle.

And then I went to prom in a suit, ate a lot of chocolate covered fruit, was ridiculously sexual at people, danced with a couple nice if sometimes rhythmically challenged boys, had a Frankie-off to "Sweet Transvestite," jumped off the stage, and danced my heart out, for the last time, to "It's the End of the World As We Know It."

'Cause, well, it is.

Good day. Good prom. Althoug playing "Walk It Out" twice was rather excessive, if you ask me.

(CLASS OF '07 REPRESENT.)

. . . I've spent all morning either playing Snowmuncher on Neopets, or looking at cat macros.

Mmmm, Interwebz.

Two shows today, and then prom (woot!). Catch y'all on the flip side!

*flails about*

Son of a bitch, I went on as Beatrice, and I was good.

Laaa I love acting. I love acting so much.

There will be a picspam tonight, I think, 'cause it's such an awesome looking show y'all should get to see it.

Eeee. :D

ETA: Shadow Rising FLAILING )
adiva_calandia: (All will be well)
Everybody's still alive. Except our Internet, which continues to resist our attempts at resurrection. I'm spending a few hours in the coffeeshop catching up on stuff.

Mom left last night for Chicago and will be heading from there to Buchanan. We met her at the airport and she told me, when I admittedly pulled a sullen teenager act, that I've been "testy" lately. :\ Well, yeah. Yesterday I had 90 minutes of oxygen-deprived karate (stupid asthma. Stupid lack of red blood cells.) with a drill sergeant, followed by a long, fun, but vaguely unsettling conversation with the BFF (unsettling in an oh-god-I'm-never-going-to-find-a-guy-and-will-die-alone sort of way, which is excessively emo, I know), followed by being told that I've been "testy."

I really, really feel like a stereotypical teenager lately, which is more than a little frustrating.

On the plus side, I got a lot of work done on my Somebody Frog project last night -- post forthcoming -- and I revised "Ghostlight" extensively, which is a first.

The expected commentaries: Provenance and Dead Man's Blood )

As for Shadow Rising )

Today's plan, other than taking advantage of the coffeeshop's wireless, include a cue-to-cue tech rehearsal where I'll be prancing around in a terrifyingly short skirt, and then, hopefully, a D&D session. Woohoo!

All in all, things are pretty okay.

ETA: skip=60 just to get to Friday night? Darn all you prolific types.

"Come, I will have thee. But by this light, I take thee for granted."

"..."

"--for pity! I take thee for pity."

"I would . . . I would . . ."

"You take her for GRANTED? That's how you screwed it up last time!"
adiva_calandia: (A star danced)
I have been exceedingly hyper and ADD tonight -- too much energy to sit and do nothing, too little focus to RP or write. So I wandered in circles and yelled at the air for a while instead:

Soliloquies )
adiva_calandia: (A star danced)
. . . I am a total sap.

Total, total sap.

Because watching the R&J balcony scene in the season two finale of Slings and Arrows makes me melt into a little puddle of romantic sighing.

With love's light wings did I o'er-perch these walls;
For stony limits cannot hold love out,
And what love can do that dares love attempt;
Therefore thy kinsmen are no let to me.

Makes me flail around wanting to be Beatrice.

Mmmmmmmmmmmph.

The road to my heart is paved with spanikopita.

*siiiiighs* I occurs to me that if I app Charles to [livejournal.com profile] in_the_wood, I can use the username what_is_real, which is what I originally intended for him at Milliways. Plus, I can use all those pictures of wee(er)!Alex Pettyfer.

Hmmmph. *sulks at THREE-QUARTERS of her f-list*

Also.

I got Beatrice.

I'm sure at some point the butterflies in my stomach will go away, but at the moment, I'm happy to let them stick around.

Now I really need a Shakespeare icon.
adiva_calandia: (Let there be light - and the SM said go)
Well that was fun.

I think it worked out for the best, though.

ETA: I've finally given in and figured out how to buy songs on iTunes.

. . . This is so bad. *eyes bank account*

But omg this song makes me gleeful. Piano parts make my heart go pitter-pat.
