According to Slovene philosopher Slavoj Zizek, unknown knowns are the things that we know, or that we should know, but maintain willful ignorance about, because we'd rather not acknowledge them.

There are a lot of moments where I'm screeching about GLEN BERGER, JULIE TAYMOR, U2, WHAT IS WRONG WITH ALL OF YOU, but this moment I'm laughcrying because I have been involved with tooooo many productions where this concept of unknown knowns is actually 100% accurate. Being the production's Cassandra is the worst.

Not that Berger is Cassandra. Berger is probably Agamemnon.
