We're halfway through season 2 of the BBC version and loving it.

I'm a little leery of watching the American version, as I loved the BBC Being Human and I tend towards being hesitant with anything SyFy these days... Is good, though? Do I need to crash my parents' cable and watch it?

Not having seen the BBC version yet, I can't speak to how good or awful the adaptation is -- but taken on its own merits (and only two episodes so far) it seems like a fairly strong show! From the incessant previews that were showing, I thought I was only going to be interested in the ghost's story, but the writing and performances were strong enough that I stayed engaged with all of their stories. The werewolf is great; the vampire strikes a nice balance between ladykiller and Angel. The women's performances aren't quite as strong, overall, but still good.

Also, there are incidental lesbians, which always earns points in my book.

Watch the show. Watch the BBC show because it's 500% better. Also, it just came back for series 3.

The BBC version is AMAZING! I really recommend watching it! Brilliant show, good twists.
