Okay, I confess, Windows 7 is awfully shiny (and even more of a Mac ripoff than Vista, which I think is hilarious). I have not yet checked out Ubuntu, which is uncharted territory; I think I will probably do that when I'm . . . not in the car.

Oh, Gaia, baby, I missed you and all your big overheated glory. I'm taking you up to my room soon as we get home and getting to know you again.

*. . . cough* More than y'all needed to know about how much I missed my own laptop, perhaps? (God, she is huge, though. I've been using my parents' little Dells that are all but netbooks, and now I have to relearn my keyboard and touchpad and all.)

It still does the Vista thing of "Are you sure you want to allow this?", but I see something in the corner that will let you "Change when these notifications appear." Score.

One of my friends was a beta tester for 7. He HATES windows - loves ubuntu... and loves 7. so yeah, I'm jealous
