Later in the year, the School of Drama takes a week off classes for something called Playground. They basically give us all free rein to create any theatre piece we want, as long as it's under 45-minutes long. You don't have to do something within your major -- in fact, you're not required to participate at all, but the implication is that not participating will give the faculty a definite impression of you, and probably not a favorable one. A number of the faculty members make a point of attending as many Playground pieces as possible, so it's a chance to showcase yourself.
I've had a couple thoughts about what I want to do for it. The possibility of staging "Once More With Feeling" occurred to me, though I'd have to find a largeish cast of geeks who can also sing and act. Directing Dogg's Hamlet, Cahoot's Macbeth has also been considered. Finding someone to act in is also a definite possibility.
Today, though, I'm thinking about writing something. In fact, I am writing something, whether or not it goes on to Playground. And I would greatly appreciate some feedback from y'all. :D
So. Pandora, A Tragedy In Two Parts, act I (maybe). Concrit plz? I'm afraid that the Chorus is too pretentious, in particular.
