adiva_calandia: (running down the road)
At some point today, I will be doing work. Yes. Honestly.

Last night I also went to the faculty cabaret, which was great fun, and was pressured into going to a surprise birthday party for a senior I don't really know, which actually was a pleasant chance to hang out with some friends while they got drunk and stoned and I didn't.

Right now I'm wating for the CCon (computer consultant, I think) to show up so that I can get back the thumb drive with the SPN/YW fic on it that I left in the cluster last night. And while I wait, I may as well write some more SPN/YW!

Just a snippet, at the moment. )

When I left the cluster after my last post, I discovered that it had started raining. Hard. And thundering. Which is awesome! But kind of awkward when you're in shorts and a white camisole. Er.

So I changed, grabbed an umbrella, went out to go down to Starbucks . . . and discovered that it had become gorgeous. Oh well -- the umbrella went in the bag, coffee went in me, and books went to the library to be returned and renewed. (I flipped through War Games and a TPB version of the X-Men: Dark Phoenix saga from the day. Wee!Kitty Pryde!) When I stepped out of the library, it was raining again.

And then it was blowing.

And then it was thundering, blowing, and raining.

And then it was oh my god this umbrella is way too small and I had to take shelter under the art museum's overhang.

It was kind of awesome, and it makes me feel much more like a college student than the papers I'm avoiding doing. It was an experience, rather than an assignment.

Also, I had a zombie dream this morning.

I hate recapping these dreams, on one level, but another they're always kind of awesomely plotted. Warning for graphic violence, zombies, and pregnancy. )

To know that I've thought enough about surviving a zombie outbreak that I can literally fortify a room against attack in my sleep is sort of comforting, I guess. Or something.

Yeah.

One paper down! \o/

And I think I know what I'm going to write the other short one on -- reader response theory as applied to Marat/Sade. Now I just have to get some quotes from the play and refamiliarize myself with the theory. >.>

In the meantime, procrastination and boredom bring you Carrie from Vienna Teng's "Shasta (Carrie's Song)" in [livejournal.com profile] mixed_muses. I feel like playing something fresh and inconsequential. Entertain me! Tag! I'm also pondering throwing in some version of adult!Nita.

Oof. Yeah. Caffeine, sugar, and boredom. Dangerous combo.
