A few things:

1) This is what my paper currently looks like:

Oh, screw you, [prof], that's what needs to be done. )

2) This is really interesting:

I am a medical student who recently heard a doctor who works with people who are going through gender reassignments. The (male) doctor said that as part of the pre-surgery counseling, he always asks the male-to-female patients if they are ready to give up their privileged-male status in society. He said the patients often come back to him after they have completed their transition into a female. They tell him that they didn't realize how significant the privileged-male status is.

3) I saw King Lear. It was really good. More later.

4) I did not see SPN. :(

So there's a distinct problem to Day of Silence in a place where you mostly have to buy food if you want to eat. Er. I think I'll go make myself some EasyMac.

WHOO I'm shaky. The GSA staged an open mic as a Breaking the Silence event, and I just sang "City Hall." I started off a little high, so the "Oh-oo-oh-oo-oh"s were waaaay up at the top of my range and sounded terrible and I went "Ohshit!" and dropped them an octave. Probably not as pretty, but prettier than me squeaking on flat notes.

And then one of the guys who'd gone before me -- this big football type, a senior, who'd played guitar and sung songs of his own -- said I had a beautiful voice and that Vienna Teng was a brilliant choice.

:D :D :D :D

I am much less worried about my decision to sing "American Tune" at next week's open mic now.

TGIF, man. TGIFF.
