Feb. 6th, 2008 09:54 amOh my God.
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi died.
That . . . probably means zip to most of you, but my mom and dad were taught Transcendental Meditation by him, and I still practice TM (slightly sporadically -- today was the first time since Friday I meditated -- but more religiously than I go to church). Maharishi was wise. Mom and Dad quote him a lot; even though they're thoroughly disenchanted with the TM Movement as a whole, they agree that he knew what he was talking about. Tell the truth that is pleasing. You transcend when you laugh. When you teach, you learn more than the student.
Wow.
I don't know the appropriate words to say, Maharishi, but thank you. And I hope wherever your next life takes you, it's beautiful.
