It snowed a good three or four inches last night, and now it is raining, and I didn't get to go online at all yesterday, and I'm behind on my script-writing, and I have to go get my teeth cleaned, and basically I have been crabby since yesterday and don't appear to be getting much better.

>:(

I finished Independence Day last night and definitely cried when the First Lady died. OW. JESUS OW. "The doctors think you're gonna be just fine." "Liar." *WAILS* And I was pretty freaked out by the attacks on the major cities.

I also literally flailed my arms up over my head when they started opening up the alien in Area 51 and it made some big noise and split open. I probably would have screamed if I hadn't been watching in a studio apartment with my parents ten feet away.

Also, Jeff Goldblum is my hero. TINY HEARTS. Someone wants to tell me not to throw David Levinson in to [livejournal.com profile] mixed_muses, I'm sure.

Oh -- I do feel I have to note the incredible irony in this, that I have to believe was intentional, but is so weird if it is. An enormous colonizing force that arrives from far away, kills the natives, consumes all the natural resources, and moves on? It's a thinly-veiled message about the colonialism and foreign policy of--! Wait, who's the hero? . . . The American president? . . . Wait.

Oh, I went to see the Lucy exhibit at the Pacific Science Center yesterday. Three million year old bones, ten inches away from me. Holy shit, dude.

Lucy! I've never gotten to see her bones, but I've always wanted to since I started enjoying physical anthropology. I read Johanson's book about Lucy, and I even took a class with Tim White at UCB because he focused on hominid evolution. Squeee!

Last-Meaningful-Messages in movies and books Totally tear me up. *sniffles* So its not so much the president and first lady talking, but her talking to her daughter that gets me Every.Single.Time. *passes over tissues*

... Though on the brighter side, its fun seeing Jayne in uniform, right? "Is that glass bullet-proof?" "... no, sir."

OMG THROW DAVID LEVINSON INTO [livejournal.com profile] mixed_muses because if you do I might need to play Will Smith's character. I love Independence Day! It's a childhood favorite, because my childhood was filled with action movies and aliens, thanks to my dad.
