Not like I knew the guy either, but I get why you're mourning him anyways. It's not the cancer for me so much as this:

He went to great lengths to make sure that they would have as many good memories of him as possible

Yeah, that's my mom all right. She'd probably have gotten along with this Prof. Pausch. So I'll join you in your well-wishes for his family, and add that all things considered they probably will. To extend my own experience: it's hard sometimes to remember anything more than the fact that they're gone, but then something like this happens and you're reminded all of a sudden.

I have been resisting apping a Callahan character for just about as long as I've been in Milliways. Partly because I'm not sure how well I could pull off the style, and partly because I'd be the only one. (And partly because I can't decide between Jake, Joe, Erin, or Mike.)

TELL ME ABOUT IT. Ever since I started reading Spider Robinson, I've wanted to see Mike meet the Milliways barmen.

I'm not currently in the market to app anybody at Milliways, alas -- I have too many pups I'm neglecting there already -- but mixed_muses? I am all over that.

I've also been pondering making a party-style post in m_m of either Callahan's Place, Mary's Place, or Lady Sally's Parlor.
