I have learned to make eggy-in-a-basket!

Further proof that the best way to get me to consume something is to give it significance in a canon (see also: rum).

But come on! Bread, massive amounts of butter, and eggs. Could this food get any better? And doesn't it look good? (Okay, don't be fooled; the other side looks much less pretty, and last time I didn't get the egg cooked all the way through. This time, though! And next time it will be both pretty and tasty. Not that it can fail to be tasty, even slightly undercooked.)

I grew up on eggy-in-a-basket! It is one of my dad's specialties. :O Also it is delicious.

What, indeed, is eggy-in-a-basket? And whose canon is it significant in?

Egg-in-a-basket is just what it looks like. Toast some bread, butter it, cut a hole in it (I use heart-shaped cookie cutters), crack an egg into the hole (you can scramble the egg first, I don't), and fry it up in a pan (I fry it in bacon fat and eat it with bacon on the side).

Nummy goodness. It's significant in the canon of delicious food eatin'.
