Feb. 10th, 2011 07:14 amEverything sucks. -_- I let Windows install an update on my netbook and
restarted this morning, and now it when I boot it up, it give me the normal
Windows boot screen, then this error message:
And then I click OK, and then it's just a black screen with a cursor. The
Microsoft help page I found describing this exact problem gives me a simple
fix, but it requires clicking on the Start menu and getting into the system
files and none of that is coming up so I'm kind of screwed,
then, aren't I, Microsoft?
So I figured I'd run home, because I have two hours between classes, and get
my big laptop -- not fun to lug around, but functional. That way I could get
a shower in, too, grab my thermos, all that good stuff. I even managed to
catch a bus back home and I was feeling not bad.
Except that today, the one day I forget to grab my keys on the way out of
the house, is of course the one day someone thought to lock the front door
behind them.
So now I'm unshowered, carrying around an unusable computer, it's 13 F
outside, I get to have a review of mine torn apart in one class and then I
get to be part of a discussion of Margaret Sanger in the next class with the
president of the campus pro-life club. WHAT A GREAT THURSDAY.
At least last night was fine. And things will be better this evening, I
hope.
