In about an hour I'm taking my World History final, and then, except for the, er, six pages of paper I need to write before the end of business hours tomorrow, I'm DONE.
The best question that we might get on this final is this (emphases mine):
Assess the merits of these contending historical interpretations by critically reviewing (1) the views of gender and race promoted by the Walt Disney company in The Emperor's New Groove and the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy; (2) the discussions of gender issues in Silverblatt, Robbins, and Ross, and (3) the discussions of racial issues in Eric Wolf, Linebaugh & Rdiker, and Marks. Start your essay by indicating whether you think gender and racial inequalities remain a significant problem in the world today. If you don't, end your essay by summarizing your reasons for taking this view. If you do, end your essay by indicating what would have to be done economically, politically, and culturally in order to put an end to gender and racial inequalities.
While I am ALL OVER analyzing gender and race in Emperor's New Groove and PotC, those other parts? What the shit, Rouse?
Ugh. I slept really badly last night; I woke up around 5 AM and couldn't fall asleep for at least an hour, and realized after a little while that the stories I was telling myself to get myself to fall asleep (other people do that, right?) had the sort of disconnected logic that usually means I have a fever. I think maybe I was just overheated, not actually feverish, but today I feel sort of shaky and weak, as if I hadn't eaten all day, even though I have. Too much caffeine, maybe?
Oof. Wish me luck, yeah?
ETA: It was that question and a fairly general one on the development and spread of capitalism and I KICKED ASS.
Now I just have to write six more pages of my cant paper by tomorrow!
