Hello there, Harry.

Mom sent me an article proposing that Harry Potter is to this generation what Bob Dylan was to my parents'. He's the pop culture icon.

And I laughed, sure, but . . . it's true. Harry's been the constant companion through much of my childhood. Now here I am, an adult, and so's he.

Weird, huh?

I may or may not commentate on the book as I read. Rest assured there'll be a final reaction post, though.

I'm going to talk about other things than Harry Potter I SWEAR and I'll save my spoilery reactions for later, but:

I walk into the theater with HP7 under my arm. In come my actors. "Look what I have!" I say.

"OOOH," says one of them, politely grabs it, and flips straight to the end. She was very good and said nothing.

Later, at least three different people borrowed it, including my light board op, who was reading it during the show (she has a lot of time on her hands, what with there being only 24 light cues).

I am vastly amused.

The show today was practically line perfect, and most of the tech actually WORKED, so I am pleased with the day, overall.
