Woke up with this in my head:

Blue for sad and blue for mad and blue for a hiding place

Dunno what it is, but I want to remember it.

(Mind, part of me immediately went "That doesn't make sense! And the rhythm needs work," and edited it into the following:

Blue for sadness and orange for madness and green for a hiding place

But I want to remember the original, too.)

How're your mornings going?

I am, as the song goes, dressed up to the nines, right down to a touch of eyeliner and lip color (don't ask me what the difference between lip color and lip stick is -- I just write what's on the container).

People kept complimenting my hair today, to my bemusement -- I hadn't even really brushed it this morning -- and then I remembered that I conditioned it last night for the first time in, oh, weeks. So it's shiny and rather curly, and apparently attractive even when horrifically messy.

Okay, so, saw HMS Pinafore and it was EXCELLENT, and I laughed a lot harder than some would, I think. Partly because of the local injokes, sure.

. . . Mostly because I kept imagining Jack Sparrow singing "A British Tar Is a Soaring Soul" a la Once More With Feeling.

And then I started pondering it further, and the parallels are all over the place! Ralph is clearly Will and Josephine is Elizabeth, which means Captain Corcoran is Governor Swann. I suppose that makes Sir Joseph Norrington, though it doesn't work quiiite so well (Norrington is noticeably lacking in sisters and cousins and aunts reckoned by the dozens). For Little Buttercup . . . um, Tia Dalma?

I have no idea who Jack is -- Dick Deadeye, maybe? The Boatswain? -- but I can content myself with imagining him watching a production and getting more and more O.o as the show progresses.
