I haven't updated in forever, because I's a silly person. Highlights of the summer:

~I walked into the PAC (Performing Arts Center) in the last week of the ATY summer camp, and was immediately asked to work a sixteen-foot puppet in a production of the BFG by Roald Dahl. Yes please! What I didn't realize was that the job also involved wrangling 26 children, most of them under the age of 12. I don't know how first grade teachers do it.

The actual puppeteering was actually quite fun -- trying to convey the emotions of the voice actor with the limited motion of the puppet. It would have been nice if some of the other puppeteers had been a bit more. . . attentive to their job. Aw well. It's over now, thank god.

~Aug. 5th, I got the main role in a four-person show about HIV and AIDS -- my character, Sarah, is diagnosed with HIV, and the short play revolves around how she and her friends deal with it. It'll be opening Oct. 1 and touring around local schools, as a teaching show. Muy nifty. We don't start rehearsing until Sep. 1, and I wish it would HURRY UP and get here. I've already got my lines down -- well, mostly. I get butterflied in my stomach just thinking about rehearsing, let alone performing.

~On Saturday, I'll be auditioning for a part in a production of Midsummer Night's Dream. Three different companies are working together on it. They got a big ol' grant from (I think) the NEA, and one of the stipulations was that the four lovers must be played by youth. Exciting! I'm anticipating some heavy competition, but I feel confident that my height, or lack thereof, will be of great use to me.

~Yesterday, I spent three hours in the dentist's chair. I won't go into details, but suffice to say that it sucked. It also made walking difficult for several minutes after they finally let me up -- you try lying at a 45 degree angle for three hours and see how well you can walk a straight line!

Now I'm going to go do my other latest thing -- fitness via video games, specifically, half an hour of DDR a day. *grin* Gotta love the Japanese.

I have used six TLAs in this single entry -- seven, if you count that last one. LOL!
