Whee. I think I managed to scare . . . five little kids today. Maybe eight. *sheepish grin* I shocked one with a Van de Graaf generator, and the other four I scared off by lighting a balloon filled with hydrogen on fire. The other three who I may have scared were probably scared by me holding a Giant African Millipede. Oh, and the tarantula, but I didn't have to hold that.
*grin* Volunteering is a wonderful thing.
Hey hermana! If you get around to reading this, and assuming I don't call you -- I smushed a pie in Chris K.'s face. :D It was quite satisfying. I paid a buck for the privilege. This was at the Church Mission Carnival, where I spent three hours making balloon animals. I guess it was kinda fun. . . It got dull pretty quickly, though.
HUGE news. For the spring intensive at school, I am going to *cue reverb* direct a play *end reverb*. How scary is that? Pamela says she wants musical numbers as sort of "plays within a play," so I'm trying to write an uber-nifty play about a masked ball. When the lights go down for the musical numbers, not only do murders take place, but the members of the chorus trade masks. Just to make it more confusing.
I went to a Valentine's day party on Friday. That was fun. We at strawberries and chocolate fondue and whipped cream and pretended we were licking whipped cream off Johnny Depp's body. And we watched The Birdcage-- I'm telling you, Nathan Lane and Robin Williams are the cutest couple I've ever seen. And I am once again amazed by some men's ability to pass as women. God -- I wish I could pass for a man as easily. *pouts* It's not fair! I wanna be androgynous! Anyway, I made a parsley toast to being single on Valentine's Day and to chocolate.
Plea for help: If anyone knows of any good Diana Wynne Jones fanart out there, please let me know! I found a cute picture of Calcifer on elfwood.com, but mostly, there is a dearth. Except some stuff in Japanese that I (alas) can't understand. I mean, that hot guy in the nice suit could be Howl, or Chrestomanci, or Tom Piper . . . Okay, maybe not Tom Piper. . . .
