I recorded myself playing piano and singing last night, on a whim.
Hearing the way I switch voices when singing Once More With Feeling makes me burst into giggles. I'm ridiculous. And overdramatic.
And don't do a half-bad Xander or Buffy, though I say it myself. My Spike sucks, though.
ETA: And totally unrelated to that . . .
So I'm researching kabuki makeup to see what kind of parallels I can draw to the stylization of anime faces, yeah? And I keep coming up with information about Kabuki syndrome, which is a very rare congenital disorder, named because it affects facial structure to resemble Kabuki makeup: particularly arched eyebrows, large eyes, and long eyelashes.
I'm wrestling with trying to figure out both whether it would be a credible argument to draw a connection between these characteristics, Kabuki makeup, and anime facial structure -- and whether it would incredibly tacky to make that kind of argument using a syndrome that actually affects people.
Thoughts? :\
