Soooo. I5 between Portland and Seattle is flooded. My plane to Pittsburgh
leave SeaTac Saturday morning; we were going to drive back by Friday and get
me on the plane Saturday.

Nooot happening now. Now I'm being put on a plane to Seattle tomorrow
morning so I can get to Seattle and get the rest of my stuff from the place
we've been staying, and then I'll get on the plane Saturday morning, and the
weather will be beautifully clear and there will be no snow or fog, and I'll
make it to Pittsburgh with no more problems. And my parents will hang out in
Portland over the weekend and then drive to Seattle on Monday for
their flight home to Alaska, and the flooding will not put them in
danger nor prevent them from traveling any more.

So there.

What an adventure.

On the other hand, I get an extra day in Powell's? . . .

I spent a lot of yesterday talking with roomie about the diary adaptation I'm working on, and it seems to have burnt me out on it and made me second-guess a lot of it. Which is a problem, since I'd like to have a complete script before I'm sucked into classes again. Nnngh.

Life is just crazy right now. I just want to curl up somewhere and catch up on sleep.

And now my computer won't boot. It will turn on and off, and I can feel the
drives sinning, but nothing appears on the monitor. If I close the lid,
which should put it to sleep, it stays on. I've tried removing the battery
and turning it on plugged in; removing the battery and replacing it and then
turning it on; cold booting a few times. Nothing. Nada.

So I'm leaving it unplugged and letting the battery die, which has fixed
freezing problems before (and is terrible for the battery, I know), and
reading Rose Madder and hoping that all my travel plans are still
feasible.

As a wise woman said, fuck my life. Rrrrrrgh.
