Mailed my ballot. I wish I had a sticker that says "I Voted Today!" That would be sweet.

For the record, while I think the latest Daily Show was hilarious ("What the pfuck?"), I was not so pleased with the Wasilla segment. Mostly I was embarrassed -- way to shake the stereotype, guys -- but mostly I was annoyed -- way to see my home state derided on national TV. WOOHOO.

Ah, well. It'll all be over soon.

In totally unrelated news: Would anyone be interested in giving me some feedback on a (mostly finished) Heroes vid?

That Daily Show segment was painful. As you say, it sort of vacillated between being painful-'cos-it's-true and obnoxiously misrepresenting the state with an exaggerated version of its worst aspects.

Not that Alaska is the only place that's gotten that treatment, I'm sure, but I can't say that I particularly approve of it whomever's the target.

Um, I have to say, they did a segment on Indiana not too far back and I really did not care. Well, I thought it was hysterical. I think it was less biting because it wasn't in response to this 'everyone in a large city is an asshole unlike those in small cities' kind of language coming from people like Palin, but I've said snarkier things about my own state than anything that was in that segment.

And I would give feedback on a Heroes vid!

I think I'm probably just generally more... well, I don't hate Indiana, but it's a pretty easy target. And I think that makes it so, at least when I was watching that segment, that besides the secessionist guy it could have been a town right out of Indiana, so it felt kind of... deprecating to me as well?

(Actually, a lot of people in Indiana tend to forget we were in the Union, so I guess the secessionist guy could count, too!)

But it will be over soon, anyway. Hopefully -__-

I'm thinking megaupload would probably be the best as it's probably a large file.

I'd like to think that the target audience for the Daily Show knows much better than to assume that all of Alaska is like that. Obviously they're playing into the sterotypes--it's what the show does. I watched it online and personally found it hilarious, if in a sad, painful way. Ooh, Alaska.

I think for the most part I have no complaints, because you are fantastic.

Everything you do with Hiro and colour is genius. The fade-to-grey walking through the door, the fade-to-colour standing in New York, the moment where he pushes up his glasses, all awesome.

I don't know whether the jump from Molly's pushpin to the big red stairs thing is your sequencing or the show's but it's awesome either way.

The bit where it says "turn 'em in" (or something - I can't hear lyrics that well) repeatedly and shows Claire's face at the last feels weirdly off-pace because she's moving much more slowly than the words.

On rewatching, the words "to suit your own needs" over Peter shouting at Nathan are kind of hilarious. :D

Other things that are awesome include using Ted for "slash and burn", Meredith for "light a candle", and putting Nathan reaching down directly before Peter reaching up.

Tomorrow morning (Sat., 10/25), a bunch of Alaska women, including me, will pose on Park Strip for a photo from atop a nearby building, with -- if I understand it correctly -- red, white, and blue somethings to indicate from on high that we're for Obama. Then hopefully this photo will be widespread by some method the organizers have in mind. Yay for unity in a cause!
