Pimping!

So my sister, ceph is going to Antarctica for six weeks to study ice. AWESOME. She's pretty fantastic like that.

She has a blog! If you have any interest in Antarctica, or ice, it would probably be worth checking out.

Last night at dinner, I mentioned that it's International Blog Against Racism Week, and we tried to come up with something that involves Antarctica and racism that she could write about.

. . . We came up with H. P. Lovecraft.

So there's another reason why you might want to read her blog. :D (Also she was talking about these insanely creepy sounding places called the Dry Valleys where there's no snow or ice at all because off the high winds, but there are mummified seals hundreds of years old. WHAT. The real Antarctica: just as creepy as Lovecraft and twice as weird.)

So!bookelfemade a post of "some TV ladies who are both a.) completely awesome and b.) not white." I like this idea!

As I commented, though, I'm having some trouble thinking of awesome ladies of color in the shows I watch. Which really, when you think about it, makes this post more important. Sure, partly that reflects the fact that I just don't watch that much TV -- but it also reflects the fact that a lot of shows have either one awesome lady of color, or none at all.

So here's my list of awesome ladies, and then I think I'll tack on some awesome gentlemen.
