Oh lord, hi! I'm alive. I have a bunch of shit I should be doing but I also have THIS WHOLE WEEKEND OFF so I'm kind of inclined to just not do anything. I finished BioShock Infinite, I'm watching National Treasure, I'm looking forward to the Hannibal finale tonight. The apartment dog is staring hopefully at me to let her up on the couch, but she's being nutty so she has to stay on the floor.

Life is pretty good; I had a shitty day on Wednesday, but the rest of the week has been good. I haven't been on my reading list in ages, though -- I've been spending most of my time on Tumblr/Twitter/Facebook, or on fail_fandomanon .

What's up, guys? How's life? Have I missed anything especially awesome, online or off?

Half the time I think "I'll just make a short post!" but then that seems like it ought to go on Tumblr or Twitter. Just too many platforms these days, man.

I'm still lurking here very regularly. I'm also on ff_anon, where I've been reading regularly and posting occasionally for the last few months, but lately I'm finding it unsatisfying. The conversations are entertaining but ephemeral. It's not possible to make or maintain friendships when you don't know who you're talking to and they don't know they're talking to you. Part of the problem is that I haven't bonded with Tumblr and I'm not sure I can. Too many pictures, too much reblogging, not enough architecture for writing and responding to new posts. So I'm very glad to see you here in Dreamwidth namespace!

I go through cycles with FFA, for sure. Lately I've mostly just been keeping up with the Hugo threads and various fandom wanks rather than jumping into conversations -- but man, do I prefer it for conversations to Tumblr. Easier to follow the thread of a conversation, and the anonymity means I don't get anxious about having a Wrong Opinion. But, yes, anonmeme: not the place to make or maintain friendships, for sure.

Can't guarantee I'll be around DW namespace more, but I keep meaning to try!

Oh, and I read Ann Leckie at your friend's recommendation!
