oh the weather outside
I take the stairs down to leave my dorm. They come out in a little alley between this tower and the main dorm building.
Today, when I opened the door and stepped out, I got hit in the face with such a strong gust of wind that I flinched back, surprised -- and then stared, because it wasn't just wind on my face, it was snow.
Snow. Real, big flakes, not the half-assed twinkle in the air we had last week. Real snow, maybe even heavy enough to stick.
It's sticking someplace; down the street, I walked past a car with an inch-thick cap of snow on its roof and hood. It was totally incongruous, the only one on the street -- plus, it had California plates.
I was grinning like a loon all the way down Forbes and back.
It's snowing it's snowing it's snowing and it's something, finally, of home.
