So this fall, there's college, yeah? College on the east coast.
And my parents went, "Hey, you know, we haven't gone on a cross-country road trip since 1995. Here's a good excuse! [Adiva], you want to learn to drive the RV and drive the Alaska-Canada Highway, right?"
And I went, ". . . Sure!"
And then I went, "DUDE, cross-country road trip!"
So.
Note that these dates are VERY rough and subject to change, dependant on everything from Mom's work schedule to college acceptances.
July 18: Leave Anchorage. The AlCan runs along the west coast, through BC and the Yukon, and I think all my Canadian peeps are on the east coast, so.
July 26: Arrive in Seattle.
July 27: Leave Seattle, arrive in Portland.
July 29: Leave Portland, arrive in Boise or Pocatello.
July 30: Leave Idaho, arrive in Denver.
August 4: Leave Denver, arrive in Oklahoma City.
August 7: Leave OK City, arrive in Kansas City.
August 8: Leave KA City, arrive in Iowa (somewhere).
August 11: Arrive in Chicago.
August 12: Leave Chicago, arrive in Buchanan.
August 16: Leave Buchanan, arrive in Pittsburgh, where parentals will be leaving me. Unless, of course, it's actually New York.
Again, those dates are rough. The locations, however, aren't -- we'll definitely be stopping in each of the places mentioned.
Which means: meet-ups! This is just a heads-up for those of you along the route; dates will be updated as things gets solidified (how's that for non-specificity?). See, I'll be missing the official Millicon '07; so I'll just have to string as much of it across the country as I can.
(In a semi-related vein, Dad and I need music to keep us entertained while we drive through miles and miles ofnothing pristine Canadian wilderness. Who has good road-trip songs?)

Good road trip songs...hee. I have most of the usual fare on my own road trip playlist: "Life is a Highway" (Tom Cochrane), "Get Out The Map" (Indigo Girls), "Thunder Road" (Bruce Springsteen), "Turn the Page" (Bob Seger)...okay, so the last one's not exactly an upbeat road trip song, but hey. I also have this amazing song called "Long Way" by Antje Duvekot which is probably a lot harder to find, so I can send it to you if you want.

Uhm, I'll actually probably be over there somewhere in August. At various points between Aug. 8-Aug. 19, I'll be aroundish...lynchburg, VA and greensburg, PA are two almost-definites. Wouldn't it be ridiculous for /us/ to meet up over there?
(I'm taking the high
ly overpriced plane triproad...but once I land (probably at JFK or Laguardia) there will be much trainage... one of us should be intimately familiar with Amtrak by then...)no subject

Your trip sounds SO much more ... laidback than mine, lol. It'll be a blast - this country is so huge, and amazing.
