So there's a distinct problem to Day of Silence in a place where you mostly have to buy food if you want to eat. Er. I think I'll go make myself some EasyMac.

Aw. Does this mean we don't get to watch you try to convey the concept of "skinny vanilla latte" in sign language?

Yay, Day of Silence!

We had ours this Monday - but I had an presentation ... which made the silence just a bit on the difficult side, seeing as my professor probably wouldn't have appreciated my attempts at miming.

I saw one guy carrying around a notepad and write down what he wanted to order!

You need a dorm room with a kitchen. I just about starved when I had to go back to buying everything 'cause my AUC dorm room didn't even have a fridge.

We used to write things down when I did it in HS (I don't have school today so I'm not, uh, actually dealing with anyone but Beth, thus making it somewhat not worth it) – of course, our theatre teacher (who was gay) also refused to allow us to participate. If we didn't speak in acting class we got Fs. :| Regardless of reason.

Personally, considering there was also a class in mime – which I took – I always thought he should've made us try to do completely silent monologues.

Yeah, awfully hard to do something like this when you work in retail, too.
