Me: Hey, Mr. College-Prep-Course-Teacher, how about you look over my CMU essay on "Why I Want To Study Dramaturgy."
Dad: Okay!
[Time passes.]
Dad: Okay, I butchered it, so let's go over it together.
[Editing happens.]
Essay: "Here's a question for you: Presented with an invitation to do what I enjoy mst in theatre, literature, and seminar for the next four years, how could I turn it down?"
Dad: *taking a red pen and writing" Answer: You . . . don't . . . give me . . . enough aid.
I have such a goofy father.
